In the framework of the Erasmus+ project «Care4Autism,» partners from Belgium, Italy, Spain, and Greece successfully visited Latvia, where they engaged in a series of positive and productive activities.
Here is a summary of the events that took place: On Wednesday, May 17, the partners gathered at Latvijas Autisma apvieniba, Strelnieku 9-14, Riga, for a warm welcome. The project updates were presented by BRAIN CITY COUNCIL, allowing for the sharing of progress and achievements. Following this, a workshop on good practices in the field of autism was conducted, involving all the partner organizations. The day concluded with a delightful social dinner at Lidojošā varde, Elizabetes 31a, Rīga, fostering camaraderie and further exchange of ideas.

On Thursday, May 18, the partners convened once again at Latvijas Autisma Apvieniba, Strelnieku 9-14, Riga. The day commenced with a gathering, setting a positive tone for the activities ahead. The group then visited Kustiba par neatkarigu dzivai Latvijā, a daycare center for adults with autism, located at Imantas 8.līnija K3, Rīga. This visit provided valuable insights into the center’s operations and the support provided to adults with autism. A lunch break allowed for relaxation and informal discussions. The next destination was SIVA – Social Integration State Agency at Slokas iela 61, Jurmala, where the partners learned about the agency’s development of state-funded professional training programs for adults with disabilities. The day continued with a tea time session and an exchange of experiences at Vaivaru Secondary School. To conclude, the partners enjoyed sightseeing in Jurmala before returning to Riga.

Friday, May 19, marked the final day of the visit. The partners gathered once again at Latvijas Autisma Apvieniba, Strelnieku 9-14, Riga, before transitioning to Sigulda. In Sigulda, they visited Cerību spārni, gaining insights into the organization’s work and impact. Lunch was enjoyed in Sigulda, followed by sightseeing in the beautiful town. The group returned to Riga, where they reconvened at Latvijas Autisma Apvieniba for project discussions and conclusions, reflecting on the successful visit and planning for future endeavors. Throughout the visit, the partners engaged in meaningful exchanges, shared experiences, and learned from each other’s expertise. The activities fostered collaboration, furthering the objectives of the Care4Autism project and contributing to the support and well-being of adults with autism across Europe.
